Theaster Gates - Black Image Corporation

Theaster Gates throws open the doors to the latest instalment of his Black Image Corporation’ at The Store X, 180 The Strand, featuring live performance programme ‘Collective Intimacy’, made of Gates’ methodologies of urban renewal and community activation. The exhibition and live series, programmed in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, The Store X and The Showroom, connects Chicago’s South Side with London’s black creative community. The programme will also include the launch of The Vinyl Factory Radio. This will feature DJs from across London’s musical scenes playing records from their collections, broadcasted live from the space. Visitors can experience a series of immersive spaces created by Theaster Gates that make use of his extensive collections, including his Johnson Publishing Company archive and Dr Wax records.
